Singapore Cricket Club Twenty 20 International Carnival of Cricket

The Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) will be hosting their inaugural SCC Twenty/20 Cricket tournament in 2009 over the period Friday/ Saturday/Sunday 21st/22nd/23rd August commencing at 09.30am daily.

The tournament will be in a Twenty/20 format and will involve 8 invited clubs/teams of OPEN age

The tournament will be played over the duration of THREE days.

The tournament will be played on the Singapore Cricket Club ‘Padang’ and at Kallang field and/or Dempsey field (all finals to be held on the Padang)

The Twenty/20 tournament will be the centre piece of a “carnival atmosphere” event designed to attract spectators, families, parents, kids etc, featuring other attractions to keep all age groups entertained and involved.

Tournament Format is summarized as follows ( Full details of the Tournament format will be provided in a Technical Guide to follow) :

Teams will be divided into two groups of 4 each (seeded) and will play each other on a round-robin basis,  which will take up two of the three days.

There will be 4 finals: the top two teams from each RR division with play for the main trophy, the second two teams for the Plate, the third two teams for the Bowl and the bottom two teams for the jug.

Each Match will consist of two innings, and be of a 2 hour 45 minute duration, including a 15 minute break between innings,.

Each Team will play a guaranteed 4 matches during the tournament, weather permitting, which will include two days with one match and one day when two matches will be played.

Each Team will be permitted to have a squad of a maximum of 15 players. It is up to each team to decide whether they are able to enter the tournament with a lesser number.

Players will be registered before the tournament commences; no change of players by any Club is permitted during the tournament is permitted for any reason.

The tournament is organized by the SCC Cricket Section and will be played in accordance to the MCC Laws of the Game for the Twenty/20 version of the game. These will be distributed to you ahead of the tournament
