The Tournament is organized by the SCC Cricket Section and will be played in accordance to the MCC Laws of the Game for the Twenty/20 version of the game. These will be distributed to you ahead of the tournament

A team manager’s briefing will be held at the SCC clubhouse, Oval room on Thursday 20th August 2009 at 7.00pm.  Further clarifications of the Laws and other requirements can be broached with the Technical Committee at this meeting when the draw for the tournament will also be made.

A Disclaimer and Indemnity form will require to be signed by the Team Manager and/or Captain and submitted to Tournament officials within the Managers Briefing.

Official Hotel – We have been negotiating with several hostelries. The best deal to date is with the Hotel Ibis – S$ 130 per night, twin, sharing basis and inclusive of breakfast for two people. We have also negotiated a package with the YWCA at Fort Canning for S$ 100 per night, twin-sharing, inclusive breakfast for two people. Both establishments are a short taxi ride away from the SCC Clubhouse/Padang.
Consequently, we may appoint an official hotel in due course, as we believe in the current fluid conditions in the market place that we may be able to improve on the rate that we have already been offered, it may also be worth your while to see whether you can negotiate an “all-inclusive package” through your local travel agent or airline as this may enable you to achieve even better rates than we are able to do so locally. The recommended hotels within either walking distance or 5 minute taxi ride of the SCC/Padang include:

The Excelsior Hotel (65-63372200)

The Peninsula Hotel (65-63372200)

Swissotel - The Stamford (65-63388585)

Swissotel - Merchant Court Hotel (65-6337 2288)

Grand Plaza Park Royal City Hall (65-63363456)

The Raffles Hotel (for those with unlimited funds and striped blazers!)

A Team Liaison officer will be assigned to each competing team, from arrival (if from overseas) and on all days of the tournament. The TLO will be on hand to deal with ad hoc inquiries, to arrange net practice (should any team arrive well ahead of the scheduled match playing days), match scheduling, up-dated score reporting from other games as well as other additional ad hoc requirements during the event.

It is advised that all participating clubs have their own personal/team insurance. Standby medical facilities will be available at both grounds to deal with minor injuries, bumps and bruises.

The tournament will be run and managed by a small technical team headed by the Tournament Director; any queries should be addressed to that team through its appointed head. The technical teams’ decision will be final in all instances.
